Located in Notre Dame Provincial Park, this cache draws the geocacher to one of the greatest family outdoor recreation areas in the province. A relatively easy find, it is kid-friendly, and likely a fairly quick acquisition, both for park users, and for those travelling along the Trans Canada Highway. Attributes do not include winter availability. However, early in the season, and during winters with a lower snowfall, the cache may well be found without too much difficulty.
In my opinion, this park is one of our province's most beautiful. Located in the boreal forest, the park user is surrounded by spruce, fir, and an abundance of maple and birch trees, as well as a diverse assortment of wildlife. It boasts large, private campsites, a large day use area, and hugs the shoreline of Junction Pond, ideal for swimming, canoeing, and fishing. In the off season, this area is fantastic for a leisurely walk with the dog, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and is a photographer's paradise! A true family destination, this is one of my favorite spots in the province! The container is a small black tube containing only a log scroll, and is accessible year round. You will need tweezers. Beware; posted images may include spoilers!
