STREET KINGS 2: MOTOR CITY (2011)
Street Kings 2: Motor City is a 2011 direct-to-DVD action-crime film directed by Chris Fisher and starring Ray Liotta. It is a sequel to the 2008 film Street Kings.
The film is a sequel in name only, as it takes place in Detroit rather than Los Angeles and only Clifton Powell returns from the first film's cast, albeit this time as Tyrone Fowler instead of Sergeant Green. However, it deals with similar themes of police corruption and internal affairs investigations that were seen in the first film.
PLOT
When a ruthless killer begins stalking his team, Detroit Narcotics Detective Marty Kingston (Ray Liotta) teams with a hot-shot homicide detective, Detective Dan Sullivan ( Shawn Hatosy) to root out the madman before he can strike again. Just as the pair begins to unearth some concrete evidence, however, they stumble into a massive conspiracy that threatens to tip the balance of power in favor of the corrupt, dimming the last rays of hope in a once-proud city.
CAST
The location were the cache is hid is very close to the location used in the movie. The actual location is a little north and to the west.
This location takes place in the beginning of the movie, the inside parking garage of the old Michigan Theater. The team has a drug bust going on when one of the buyers discovers one of the dealers is wearing a wire. Detective Marty Kingston (Ray Liotta) gets shot twice in the leg as the bust goes bad and as a result develops a limp.
This location was also used in the 2002 movie 8 Mile starring Eninem.
