Geocache Description:

Archaeopteryx is a feathered carnivore that lived during the late Jurassic period, about 150 million years ago. Paleontologists consider Archaeopteryx an evolutionary link between dinosaurs and birds.  Like our modern birds, it had feathers and lightweight bones.  But unlike our modern birds, it had claws on its wings.  And like dinosaurs, it had a strong jaw, teeth and a long, bony tail with many vertebrae.

Dinosaur Train on PBS TV stations:
“Go outside, get into nature and make your own discoveries!” That is what Dr. Scott challenges his viewers to do at the end of each Dinosaur Train episode.   In support of this call to action, PBS’ Dinosaur Train has teamed up with geocaching to hide Dinosaur Train themed geocaches nationwide.    Each geocache celebrates a dinosaur featured in the Dinosaur Train Field Guide on the PBS Kids website.
