Geocache Description:

A quick cache at a pretty park in Parkview.

George Hay Park on the corner of Lurgan and Kildare Roads is a wonderful place to walk and play in a safe, clean and green environment. In the late 70's I used to attend Sunday School at St Columbas Church across the road, and spent many a happy time playing in the park. In 2001 the Parkview residents association became actively involved in the park, and engaged with Johannesburg City Parks to improve the conditions in the park. In 2005, Pickitup donated compost and topsoil, and this was spread across the park by the residents to improve the quality ofnthe grass. Sprinklers were installed, and a mowing schedule drawn up. Indigenous trees have been planted, and the playground equipment has been improved. The park is used for a number of annual events, including  a Halloween Party, a Potjiekos Competition, and a Christmas Market. 

As at this morning, the park will also host a Geocache. Please note that this is a popular park, and there are normally plenty of muggles around. Do not attempt this cache unless you can do so without compromising the hide. You will need to make use of the piece of equipment, and do it properly. Go all the way up, arms in the air, and right to the end.
