After the British gave Fort Detroit over to the Americans, Simon Girty had to quickly escape the American wrath by swimming across the Detroit River with his horse, nearly drowning during the crossing. He settled down with other loyalists in the Province of Ontario. Here near Clue #6, there is a bridge which you are able to cross in order to continue your quest to Clue #7 & #8 and eliminate the need for a treacherous crossing.
