Geocache Description:

This cache is the eighth in the 'Surrey Arts' series started by Woking Wonders to commemorate people of significance in the various arts (literary, musical, etc.) with Surrey connections.  This cache has been placed with the kind permission of the National Trust. My thanks to Matt Cussack and Parmstro for their help in this matter. Please note: geocaching on National Trust property is entirely at your own risk.

You should be able to solve this puzzle from the comfort of your own homes. Quite an easy one I think, approach with an absolutely blank mind and you will have an advantage.

You are looking for a person X, who is best known for their association with a double-act, one member of whom claimed to be related to a famous French artist (although that is unlikely to be true). The other member of the double act had many things in common with X.  This double act have enjoyed many successful revivals, including a couple of recent ones.

X lived in Surrey for 10 years.  During that time X created some of their most celebrated works and also held a significant position within the county.  There are many plaques commemorating person X up and down the country but, until recently, not one at the site of X's home in Surrey, a few miles from here.

X was married twice, and lived with their first spouse in Surrey. X was born and died elsewhere, and lived in many other counties, and indeed many other countries.

X had some strange and controversial beliefs which led to some difficulties upon X's death. X was initially buried in Sussex but later reburied further west.

The puzzle can be solved in two parts. First answer the questions below:
Q1: What are X's middle names? (8,5)
Q2: What was the name of X's Surrey home? (9)
Q3: X's home in Surrey was re-purposed shortly after X sold it. What word describes this new use? (5)
Q4: What is the fifth line of the inscription on X's gravestone? Take the second word. (9)
Q5: What was the name of X's first public work? Take the last word of the title. (6)
Q6: X spent some time as a volunteer in the country that was featured in the answer to Q5. What was the name of the town in which X offered their services? (12)

Next, once you have all the answers you can create the second part by putting the words together in one long string, removing any spaces from each element, the cache can be found at:

N  51 (9).(11) (43)(17) (20)(52)
W 000 (5)(33).(48) [(2)(38)-(29)]

There are micro certificates for the first 9 finders.

Interesting trackable!
A blue plaque was finally unveiled at X's home in Surrey in 2016.
