Geocache Description:

Within the Frederick City Watershed are inholdings of state park land. This spot has an incredible view of the Lewistown Valley.

From the parking coordinates it is a 2/10 mile hike to GZ. At the point where the paths split in three, stay to the middle path (the blue blazed trail). When you arrive, take a few minutes to sit and enjoy the expansive view.

To find the cache, follow the path to the left behind the overlook.

This is a designated wildlife protection area so bicycles are not allowed on the trail. Dogs are ok but must be on a leash.

The land around the trail is a public hunting area. From 9/15 to 1/31 and 4/15 to 5/20 are open hunting seasons. So if you are visiting during those times please be more aware of your surroundings.

Please note that the roads within the Watershed are not paved and not well maintained. You will encounter ruts, potholes and muddy areas so they are not appropriate for motorcycles and you must use caution with small cars. Although the Watershed does not close during the winter, the roads are not plowed so use your best judgment after a snow.
