BLUE is just a silly nickname having to do with the color of the Mardi Gras beads placed in the cache. It can be a fun reference also, as you climb the ridge. "How far to BLUE?" you might ask. Good question, as it sits at 6,741 feet, about 1,500 feet higher than the Bonneville Shoreline trail.
The trail to BLUE is an easy stroll across flat ground once you've reached the top of the ridge. It's an awesome place, situated right below an impressive cliff band. You can continue on to the cliff, but My Dal Leo and I thought this was an appropriate place to stop. He noticed a large mountain goat not far away, and then another popped on top of the cliff to keep watch on us. That was a most unexpected bonus and one we hope you enjoy too. Bring your binoculars and scan the cliffs while you exalt in the rewards of this place. Enjoy!
