Geocache Description:

On April 20th, 2013 there will be a CITO Event (cache in - trash out) held at The Breaks Interstate Park VA/KY.  We will be meeting at the Visitors Center at 10:30 a.m.

Earth Day is on April 20th and what better way to celebrate it than giving back to nature at The Breaks Interstate Park located on the Virginia / Kentucky border. The Park will be hosting The International Migratory Bird Day with bird watching in the early morning hours and in the evening there will be live birds on display. Throughout the day there will also be a bird photography contest with the winners having their photograph being placed on display.

Our CITO Event will be helping clean up some trails that have fallen branches on them from the winter storms.  After the event will be a perfect opportunity to geocache in the park.

Being located in two states, The Breaks is not a State Park but an Interstate Park and is only one of two located in the United States. There is a $2 fee to enter the park. You may want to pack a lunch or eat in the park's restaurant. The park has lodging, cabins, and several campsites if you are interested.
