Before Keio line went underground, Hatsudai station stood here.
You can see a stone fence for the former station near GZ.

ここは昭和39年（1964年）6月に地下化される前の初台駅の跡地です。当時の鉄道柵が残っています。


この界隈では元々京王線が玉川上水と平行して走っていました。そのうち玉川上水が暗渠化され、京王線も地下に潜りました。そして地上には玉川上水旧水路緑道が残りました。
キャッシュは伊東小橋そばに設置しました。

注）初台駅は京王新線の電車しか停まりません。京王線は各駅停車でさえ通過します。

なお地上の初台駅(初代)と現在の初台駅(3代目）の間には、もう一つ初台駅があります。1964年に新宿～初台間が地下化された時、初台駅も地下に潜りました（２代目）。そのあと昭和53年（1978年）、京王新線増設による新宿～笹塚間の複々線化が実施された時、初台駅は新線側に移され、2代目初台駅は封印されました。ホームはそのまま残っており、車窓から確認できるようです。機会があればご観察ください。
