Placed along a section of the walking/biking trail that runs alongside the Lehigh River. Our family uses these trails for all kinds of family fun, so it was only natural to want to put a few caches out here. I'm very grateful to have the company of my niece Nikki100 to plan out these caches, and also the help of my other niece Kenard98 who came out with myself and Nikki to place them. There is nothing better then family time, except if it's family time with geocaching! :-)
This cache is just a short walk from Riverview park, while your here enjoy the views. You will of course see the Chain Dam, across the river you will be looking at the tip of Hugh Moore park where the Locktenders House is located, that is also where the mules are stored when the canal boat is running. Just a little bit up river you will see an island, this is the old Island Park that was orginally built in 1894, sadly the cost of maintaining the park was just to much and was closed in 1919, you can kayak inside the island for an amazing view, but there are no more remains of the original park as of the 1972 flood.
Come for a nice walk or bike ride along the trail and leave with a smile. Depending on the day you might want to bring your muggle avoidance tools.. it seems the nicer the day the more there are!
