Geocache Description:

This cache, a tube contains a bison tube inside. No pencil. It is located in Dongara opposite the site of a long gone lobster processing factory which was built by MG Kailis circa 1962 and operated for nearly 40 years.

The Kailis Family harked from the small Greek Island of Kastellorizo and is synonymous with fishing in Western Australia. George Peter Kailis, aged 14, immigrated to Australia in 1914 and 12 years later he established a retail fish shop in Perth, WA. Supported by his sons, George’s business expanded to include a processing factory, importing facility and warehouse to support his burgeoning wholesale business. Today, the family empire covers catching, processing and marketing all types of seafood, pearling, tuna farming and marine engineering to name a few.

Please be careful when replacing the cache.

Have fun
