Join us for backpack/tailgate lunch at 12:00 NOON on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the end of Eklutna Lake along the Eklutna Lake Trail. Bring your own sandwiches and drinks... we'll bring desserts and prizes.
The event is at the same coordinates as HELP 068, which is an excellent resting point about mid-way along the Eklutna Lake Trail. This is an excellent hiking and biking trail and, on Sunday the upper trail is also open to ATVs. The location is also accessible by canoe or kayak. From trailhead to event location is about 8 miles. Hike (2-3 hours), bike (1-1/2 to 2 hours), ATV (less than an hour) or canoe/kayak. There's a parking fee of $5 (or Alaska State Park season pass).
