The route to this cache is across a fascinating stretch of desert. It is located on a remnant of bedrock that rises above the rest of the outwash plain, but which is not connected to the larger body of hills rising to the north and east.
If you like to hike, head across the desert and aim for the biggest valley coming from the hills in this vicinity - well, be sure to let your gps help you. Beyond the ridge where the cache is located, there are more caches up the valley. A lot of this area can also be covered via vehicle, though some research might be necessary to find the right routes. Enjoy the jack rabbits, lizards, roadrunners, perhaps coyotes, and the great variety of plants that would love to attack the unwary. Pack plenty of water and take all the normal precautions essential for desert travel.
The container can be left in its location as you unscrew it to access the log. Please make sure it's doing its rightful job in its appropriate spot. Be sure to bring a scribing tool, as none is present.
