Geocache Description:

TYRANNOSAURUS REX

It's name means "tyrant lizard" "king". It is a CARNIVORE which means it eats meat. This dinosaur is a biped. Even though it had 4 limbs, the front 2 were very tiny, so it walked only on it's 2 back feet. The teeth in it's head were as big as bananas. TYRANNOSAURUS REX lived during the Cretaceous period 67 - 65.5 million years ago. It lived in areas of Western North America, from Saskatchewan Canada, down to New Mexico in the United States.

Height... 13 feet or 4 meters
Length... 40 feet or 12.3 meters
Weight... 7.5 tons or 6.8 metric tons

TYRANNOSAURUS REX had s skull that measured up to 5 feet or 1.5 meters long. T-Rex was one of the largest land carnivores of all time.

THE CACHE

You are looking for a camo painted large peanut butter jar.

SWAG

All swag is dinosaur themed and child friendly. Please stick to the theme when making your tiny trade.

THE TRAIL

This cache is along the Rotary Way Trail, which is well groomed for walking or riding a bicycle. In the winter some people hike and snow shoe along this trail. There might be seasonal hunting in the crown lands that surround this trail. There are signs to warn both the walkers and the hunters that this trail is multi use and passes through the crown lands. I put the Terrain rating at 2 because even in the snow, there seems to be some tripping hazards from the trail to the cache. NOTE: Aug 2016...the area surrounding the cache is really closing in on itself as trees continue to rot and fall...watch your step. April 2019...I added the "may require wading' attribute because this trail has been getting more water covered areas in the past few years

PARKING AND PORT-A-POTTY

The parking lot is on Concession 4, at the Rotary Way Trail access point. There is another parking lot on Bruce Road 33 several meters north of the other access point. In winter the lots are not plowed, but at times there is enough room to park safely along the shoulder.

During late spring and summer only, there is usually 1 SEASONAL PORT-A-POTTY beside the Gore Drain Trail sign on the N side of Con. 4, across from the parking lot.

This cache is part of the DINOSAUR series: #1 is APATOSAURUS GC47T1W #2 is TRICERATOPS GC54R91 #3 is TYRANNOSAURUS REX GC48D15 #4 is PTERANODON REBIRTH GC87HY1 #5 is PARASAUROLOPHUS GC54RBE #6 is STEGOSAURUS GC90VDG
