An Irish writer and musical comedy performer who lost his life on the battlefield in France during the First World War.
We were hoping that we could of found a 'Captain Horne' that was some how connected to Horne Lake, but no such luck. Adam Horne was the first non native to visit 'Enoksasant Lake' in 1855. It was renamed Horne Lake four years later. Adam Horne was an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company and first found his way here while searching for a route across the mid Vancouver Island. Either way, both these Horne men are heroes !
