Please plan to join COG as we clean-up a little known Park at Big Bay Point. Coordinates given are for a Parking area. This is International CITO weekend!!
Meet at 10am, and Clean until its pristine.. or we just give up or get hungry..
Despite the fencing to keep the beach area off limits to the public for conservation reasons.. this has clearly not happened and there is a large hobo Hotel that is ripe for deconstruction. The Beach is also littered with various garbage from snowmobilers and ice fishermen from the winter season. It isn't a BIG area, but it is fairly dirty. Time to give this beach a scrubbing!
Bring gloves and your own trash picker-uppers. Garbage bags provided by the municipality. If you have any 5-gallon buckets (like the orange ones from the local home improvement stores) bring them along; they are really handy for collecting trash and then putting it into the trash bags. There are caches located along or near the bike path as well as others in the general vicinity so bring your GPSr, too, as a cache or two might be in the area!
