Geocache Description:

NEVER CANCEL GEOCACHE CHALLENGE

Welcome to the Never Cancel Geocache Challenge (NCGC). This is one of 31 caches that were placed for a May, 2013 event. The event is over, but you can still take the challenge! More information about the event can be found here: http://coord.info/GC46YFX

First, grab a passport from the Contact Station as you enter the park. If the station is closed, try the Visitor Center. The passport explains the program and allows you to record your finds. Most caches in this series are micros – pill bottles, 35mm film canisters and bison tubes. There is one nano in the series. Bring your own pencil/pen to sign the log.

Each cache has a point value. Earn 15 points and receive a specially minted pin. There is a rubber stamp in each cache. Bring a felt marker to act as your stamp pad.

If you are taking the challenge, this cache is AVERAGE and is worth 2 points.

The remains of a wheelwright's shop were found in what is now York River State Park.  Formerly known as Taskinas Plantation, it was believed to be a fully functioning, self-sustaining farm founded in the 17th century.

The wheelwright would have been responsible for building the hubs, spokes and rims for carts and wagons used to transport goods, equipment and people.  After completing this work, the wooden wheel would have been bound in iron from the blacksmith's shop to prolong the life of the wheel.
