Geocache Description:

A forest trail through the beautifully undisturbed Fauna Forest. Located close to Donard Village and the Glen of Imaal, this trail will take you on a 11km walk on a easy to follow path.

The Forest Trail:

After parking at the gate, proceed along the well maintained path where you will encounter huge boulders, ancient trees, hidden streams, wildlife and creatures, stone walls of a by-gone era, fairy trees, fallen trees, and all on a quiet walkway with very few muggles. 

The walk takes you on a 11km round trip which will take in a number of caches and some highlights of the walk. 

This walk is safe for those who bring Geo-pooches, but horse riders use this walkway too so please keep your Geo-Pooches on their leads. 





The Cache:

These co-ordinates take you to a marker on the path, the tree cover was too dense to get fix on cache location.

The co-ordinates to this cache take you to a fallen log. This is where the terrain rating comes in. 
  • Step over this log and proceed downhill on a slightly worn path until you see the next marker. 
  • You will be looking for a boulder at the foot of twin trees 
  • When you arrive here, the cache is at the large tree on your left as you look downhill at this boulder.

You will need a Geo-cachers eye to find the marker in the forest, use the spoiler photo provided (recommended)

Jenga game included along with FTF badge for first visitors.

The area is maintained and managed by Coillte and the cache is placed in line with the "Leave no Trace" principle.
