Geocache Description:

Ein schneller Cache im Wiener Hamerlingpark. A quick cache in the Viennese Hamerlingpark.

Robert Hamerling (1830 – 1889) war ein bekannter österreichischer Dichter und Schriftsteller des 19. Jahrhunderts, in dem er zu den meistgelesenen deutschsprachigen Autoren zählte.

Seine bekanntesten Werke sind „Ahaversus in Rom“ (1865) und „Der König von Sion“ (1869).


Der Hamerlingpark

In Wien sind zahlreiche Orte ihm Hamerling Ehren benannt, darunter der Hamerlingpark, der sich im achten Bezirk (Josefstadt) befindet. Heute wirst du ihn besuchen.
Der Hamerlingpark ist einer von drei Parks in der Josefstadt. Er ist allseits beliebt, da er die jüngeren Platz zum Spielen und für die älteren ruhige Sitzplätze im Schatten bietet.
Dieser Cache ist jedem gewidmet, der den Park einmal betreten und dort einige schöne Stunden verbracht hat.


Über den Cache

Ich denke, es wird euch leicht fallen den Cache zu finden – auch ohne Hinweis. Um ihn jedoch zu heben, werdet ihr wirklich ins Grüne müssen.
Dazu könnt ihr entweder bei den angegebenen Koordinaten direkt über den hüfthohen Zaun steigen, oder ihr betretet den Park durch die kleine Tür im Nordosten (Kelsheimgasse / Kupkagasse) und bahnt euch dann einen Weg durch das Gestrüpp.
So oder so, der Kontakt zu Sträuchern, Bäumen und Gebüsch wird euch leider nicht erspart bleiben - vor allem in den Sommermonaten nicht.
Einige der Büsche besitzen Dornen, die jedoch im Allgemeinen harmlos sind. Passt aber trotzdem darauf auf die Pflanzen nicht umzuknicken oder sonst zu verletzen – Geocacher Kodex.
Tagsüber, und vor allem bei warmem Wetter finden sich hier zahlreiche Muggel – sowohl im Park selbst, als auch in der angrenzenden Kupkagasse, in der sich Wohnhäuser und eine Schule befinden.
Im Zweifelsfall lässt sich der Cache auch in der Dunkelheit gut finden, da der Ort ausgeleuchtet ist.
Euch erwartet eine kleine Filmdose (Größe: Micro), die mit silbergrauem Klebeband umzogen ist. Darin befinden sich das Logbuch.
Bitte passt auf, dass das Logbuch nicht nass wird und nehmt unbedingt euren eigenen Stift mit.
Durch geschicktes Verbiegen eines Astes in der Nähe des Versteckes könnte ihr dem Cache weiteren Blickschutz bieten.
Bitte kontaktiert mich sofort, falls euch den Cache betreffend etwas auffällt. Je schneller ihr es meldet, desto schneller kann ich ihn warten.
Das ist übrigens mein erster Cache: Für Verbesserungsvorschläge aller Art wäre ich euch also mehr als dankbar!

Tipp: Wenn ihr Tischtennisschläger, -bälle, oder einen Fußball mitnehmt, wird die Zeit noch schöner!

The Hamerlingpark

In Vienna numerous places are named in Hamerling's honour, including the Hamerlingpark that is located in the eighth district (Josefstadt). Today you will visit it.
The Hamerlingpark is one of three parks in Josefstadt. It is much-loved, as it provides space to play for the younger and smooth seats for the older ones.
This cache is dedicated to everyone, who once entered the park and spent some beautiful hours there.


About the cache


I think you will find the cache easily – even without a hint. Though to lift it, you will really have to step on to the green.
As to that you can either climb over the waist-high fence at the given coordinates, or you enter the park through the small door in the northeast (Kelsheimgasse / Kupkagasse) and break your way through the brushwood.
Either way, you will unfortunately not escape the contact to bushes, trees and shrubbery – especially not in the summer months.
Some of the shrubs possess thorns that are yet harmless in general. But nevertheless take care of not snapping or harming the plants in any other way – Geocacher codex.
By day, and exceptionally when there is warm weather, you will find many muggles – both inside the park itself as well as in the bordering Kupkagasse, in which residential houses and a school are located.
In case of doubt the cache is also well findable in the dark as the place is illuminated.
Expect a small film canister (size: micro) that is covered in silver-grey duct tape.
Inside is the log book.
Please play attention that the log book does not get wet and bring your own pen under all cirumstances.
By skilfully bending a branch near the stash you can further shelter the cache from view.
Please contact me immediately, if you notice something regarding the cache. The faster you report, the faster I am able to fix it.
By the way, this is my first cache: I would be more than grateful for any kind of improvement suggestions!
After the work is done allow yourself a beautiful time in the park.
Hint: When you take your table tennis rackets, -balls, or a football with you, the time will be even more beautiful!
