Geocache Description:

This cache is along a track with lots of tree cover so the hint is a bit more helpful than would otherwise be the case.

There is quite a pleasant and relatively easy circuit walk from Fern tree via the Pipeline Track  and Silver Falls then along the Silver Falls track to Fern Glade tracks.  It can of course be walked in either direction.

The Fern Glade track is in a shaded gully and crosses the creek on wooden bridges several times; it is usually cool even on a warm day.  There is a track from Fern Tree that runs behind the church that can be used on the journey for  this cache.  As the name implies there are plenty of ferns growing there.

The Fern Glade track is known to have  been in  existence at least by the 1890s.  In the early 1900s it was given the name Fern Gully, which was subsequently changed to Fern Glade in November 1928.  It was extended from Radfords Track to Finger Post Track as an unemployment relief scheme in 1930-31, but this section was widened by bulldozing after the 1967 fires to act as a firebreak.

This cache container is close to the walking track so please take care in replacing it as found.  This cache has gone missing twice and has been moved to this new location.  The tree cover can make GPS readings inaccurate, so a couple of photos are included to help.
