Geocache Description:

Venue: Picnic Ground at Lake Mahinerangi Dam

Time: 2pm to 3:30pm

Why? To CITO! in celebration of the international cache in trash out weekend (and earn some karma + a digital souvenir for your profile page).

This CITO will have two aims. Firstly: to do the usual picking up of trash. There may be quite a lot or not much depending on the recent activities of the local intelligentsia. Secondly: to add a little to the native shrubs that the John McGlashan year 9 students began planting a couple of years ago. We will have some toetoe to plant.

I will provide rubbish bags, plastic gloves (but would prefer you bought reusable ones such as garden gloves), plants, weed mat, fertiliser pills and couple of spades (bring your own if you can). Each party attending could bring a packet of biscuits? There is a tap on site (I'll try to remember to bring some raro). There are toilets but they will most likely be locked. I will arrange for rubbish disposal - either picked up by TrustPower or brought back to Dunedin.

I intend to depart from in front of John McGlashan College (at about 12:45pm). I'll have spare seats for up to three. Perhaps send a PM or communicate via notes on the cache page to arrange carpooling. A donation towards petrol for driver would be a good idea. If you wish to travel convoy style feel free to meet up at John McGlashan.

Snow can occur at any time of the year at Mahinerangi. If it looks dodgy I will communicate changes via the event page. TrustPower have given permission for the cleanup and planting.
