Coordinates have been updated. June 24, 2019. Evans Creek is located along the western shore of Slocan Lake in Valhalla Park. The forestry campsite has a couple picnic tables, pit toilet, food caches and a scenic bridge crossing over the falls. Evans Creek is an excellent shoulder season hike and also the starting point fror the Beatrice Lake trail.
Do not park at the trail head, there is parking on the east side of the bridge over the Slocan River.
The trail to Evans Creek is about 8.5km long with a few ups and downs, along with a couple slippery sections. The well constructed trail goes through mossy boulder fields, forest, grassy slopes, talus fields and around a couple parcels of private land. If traveling by boat, there's some 400 year old pictographs located on a shoreline cliff less than 3km from and Slocan City.
Geocache is a preform tube, located on the North side of the creek, up the trail about 19 paces before the trail register. Look for a triangular rock jutting up along the trail.
