Geocache Description:

Hidden on a small island you can approach on lower tides.

This cach is hidden on a small skerry by Hólmavík village called Sandsker (Sand Skerry), a tiny island which is impassable except on the lower scales of the tides (up to appr. 0.80 m = 3 ft), where you can walk on a 100 meter long narrow sand-passage connecting the land and the island.

Out on the island the Eider Duck nest in the springtime. So please respect the birdlife while you walk there.
The cach is hidden in a big rock, located over high sea level north of the main island. Please be aware of that it can be slippery while you walk on the seagrass and stones can also be wet and slippery. Be careful not be stuck on the skerry after the high tides flows in.
The original cach contains a logbook, a pen, old Icelandic coin and a gift for the first finder.
