Mooghaun is a late Bronze Age hill fort located in County Clare, Ireland. It is a well preserved, recently excavated site, occupying an entire hill with wide views of the surrounding lands. Believed to be the largest hill fort in Ireland. It is located very close to Shannon airport on the way to the beautiful west coast of Ireland.
Park in mooghaun hillfort carpark.
Walk along main path to first cashel. Stroll around the outer cashel wall to the rear opposite the cashel entrance. Follow forest path for a few minutes leading to the outer Rampart wall.
