Geocache Description:

Old cemetery inside a recreational park ground. Cemetery and cache can be accessed before reaching the Admission Cabin. Park gates are closed at 10:00PM Be careful on the hillside and loose rocks.

Cemetery was used by residents of a near by community called "Ream", "Reams Flats" or sometimes called "Reams Switch" because of the railroad passing track near the community. The cemetery has only a few commercially made monuments; the rest are native stones and parts of old funeral home markers. Very small unkept cemetery. It is so sad that these folks have no one to tend or decorate their graves. Reams was nine miles northeast of McAlester but is under Lake Eufaula now. It had a post office from March 6, 1901, till December 31, 1915.
