Geocache Description:

Welcome to Natural Lands Trust's Glades Wildlife Refuge, a 7,500-acre expanse of tidal marshes, wooded uplands, beaches along the Delaware Bay, and a remarkable old growth forest. While walking the Glades, you will want to keep your eyes on the skies as much as your GPSr. The tidal marshes are excellent places to spot bald eagles, as well as waterfowl and wading birds at any time of year.

Much of the preserve is only accessible by canoe, kayak or boat. At the end of Turkey Point Road, there is a map of canoe/kayak trails within the preserve. There are three trails to enjoy, as well as an observation platform and pedestrian bridge at the end of Turkey Point Road. Dogs are permitted on the trails on-leash but are not allowed in the bay, ponds or other water features. Please pick up after your pets to help it remain a pet-friendly preserve.

On the way back from performing maintenance on another one of my caches, further in the refuge, I thought it would be nice to give folks more reason to visit this peaceful and beautiful area and enjoy views of striking and diverse landscape and abundant wildlife.
