As a kid I always looked forward to going to my grandparent’s house. Not only was I spoiled rotten by them, it meant we got to take a trip down I-70 and I could see my old friend Ali!
Snuggled in on the north side of I-70 between exits 338 (Vera Rd) and 341 (Maple Hill) lies Ali the Alligator. He is part of the Buffalo Mound area in Wabaunsee County.
Coming from the West, you get your first glimpse of him when you pop the top of the hill at the rest stop. From the East, you can spot him just before Exit 346 (Carlson Rd). You will see him sitting on the top of the hills to your right. He is impossible to see when you are sitting on top of him (and where the cache is, so be sure to say hello as you approach from either direction.
I would highly recommend grabbing this one during the day. There are some amazing views in the area so bring a camera!!! I can’t wait to see your pictures as you get a glimpse of him!!
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS FROM THE HIGHWAY!!!
You will be looking for a purple bison tube.
Congrats to Semmels123 and Ladybug Rose on the co-FTF!
