My first attempt at placing a cache.
I've been walking through these woods for as long as I can remember. Viewed from the house I grew up in, this tree was the tallest in the woodland, and we used to play the game of ‘jumping over the ditch into the wood and heading to the 'Faraway Tree’ after having the Enid Blyton book of the same name read to us. The track that the tree stands on is always referred to in our family as 'round past the Faraway Tree'.
A lovely stroll in summer as the track way is shaded along the top. Be careful in wet weather as the slopes up to this top track way (one at each end of the path) become extremely slippery when it rains!
The cache itself is a small screw top container.
This cache has been placed with the kind permission of the Forestry Commission Wales.
Parking for the woodland is available at the co-ordinates listed. The paths themselves are either loosely gravelled or mud tracks.
