Geocache Description:

WWFM in Rhode Island,

Well, as I have never hosted any events, decided, perhaps that should change as well. I have heard of the Podcacher's WWFM events, have attended one, and this year seems the nearest one is in Boston, so decided to just go ahead and toss one right here , in Goddard Park, one of the many popular caching spots in the state.

OK WHERE? WHEN? WHAT?.

At posted coordinates, Goddard Park RI, May 4th, 2013, Time 13:00 P.M, where is at the posted coordinates.

The WHAT:

Well, seems it is mainly a group photo that is needed, and this years theme is heavily laced into Star Wars. I for one have no Star Wars or Star Trekky gear, if you attend, and choose to don/display your S.W or S.T gear, " May the 4th be with you!" It would be cool , but not a necessity.

You will need (or not, your choice) a frisbee. I have a couple extras, gonna play a simple game of "Frisbee Toss", A free for all frisbee toss, just for the sake of a flash mob activity. I have a couple extras, hopefully there are enough frisbee's in the world for everyone to join in , let the frisbees fly, be free lil frisbee!

Schedule:

Event starts at 13:00, you will need to either grab an "officail" index card, or have one supplied by you. This index card serves as the logsheet, as well as the drawing slip,. (You will sign this, as this is your log in sheet and drawing entry, to be dropped in the bucket (@ GZ between 12:55 and 13:15) So,be sure to have one/ or grab an index card from me (Yawppy). I will be there early NOTE: There will be a doorprize drawing scheduled at 13:05, so try to have your logsheet/index card in the bucket at GZ prior to 13:05.

12:55 – Begin walking to GZ, flash your geeky attire, or not, drop off your "Logsheet"

13:00: Play frisbee!
13:10 –
Group together quickly atop of rock at GZ for group photo(s)

13:10 -13:15- Drawing for Door prizes – Enjoy a Milky Way bar, swap swag , and disperse!

Further WWFM Information, history

For those not familiar wit such a thing as flash mobs, a flash mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment.

The WWFM – or World Wide Flash Mob – is when a few thousand geocachers gather at coordinated events all around the globe.

It’s 15 minutes of fun, frivolity, and community creation that many geocachers anticipate each year. The 10th geocaching World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM) this year is on May 4th. (May the forth be with you!)

WWFM HISTORY:
According to the creators of the WWFM, a WWFM is “… meant to be a fun ‘opposite’ of a Mega-Event. [It's] all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters “WW” – World Wide. These events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.”

WWFM History:
Flash Mob I – May 2007 – almost 200 San Diego, CA geocachers; 20 world-wide events
