Ο Αριστοτέλης ήταν ένας διάσημος φιλόσοφος της αρχαιότητας. Γεννήθηκε στα Στάγειρα της Χαλκιδικής το 384 π.Χ.
Μαζί με το δάσκαλό του Πλάτωνα αποτελεί σημαντική μορφή της φιλοσοφικής σκέψης του αρχαίου κόσμου, και η διδασκαλία του διαπερνούσε βαθύτατα τη δυτική φιλοσοφική και επιστημονική σκέψη μέχρι και την Επιστημονική Επανάσταση του 17ου αιώνα.
Ο Αριστοτέλης δίδαξε σε πόλεις στην Μικρά Ασία, στην Λέσβο, στην Μακεδονία όπου έγινε και δάσκαλος του Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου. Επέστρεψε στην Αθήνα, ίδρυσε την σχολή του, η οποία ονομάστηκε περιπατητική σχολή και οι οπαδοί του ονομάστηκαν περιπατητικοί φιλόσοφοι.

Aristotle (Greek: Ἀριστοτέλης [aristotélɛːs], Aristotélēs) (384 BC – 322 BC) was a Greek philosopher and polymath, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great.
His writings cover many subjects, including physics, metaphysics, poetry, theater, music, logic, rhetoric, linguistics, politics, government, ethics, biology, and zoology.
Together with Plato and Socrates (Plato's teacher), Aristotle is one of the most important founding figures in Western philosophy.
Aristotle's writings were the first to create a comprehensive system of Western philosophy, encompassing morality, aesthetics, logic, science, politics, and metaphysics.
Aristotle was teaching in various cities in Asia Minor, Lesvos, and Macedonia. By returning to Athens created the so called “Walking School” of philosophy and his followers where named “Walkers”.
