On June 10, 1976, the Twin Burn fire was started by a careless woodcutter. In 5 hours, the fire consumed 1,100 acres of Natural Forest. Timber, wildlife, forage, water and recreation resource losses amounted to one million dollars. A major effort is being made to return this land to multiple use production. The area has been treated to prevent soil erosion; to benefit wildlife, browse, forbs and water have been established. Through seeding and tree planting the area will be reforested. With time, scars will heal and the area will again support a productive forest.
