Geocache Description:

On the drive to Loch Sport we thought a break was in order and what better than to stop for a cache.  In this area you will find a cork tree securely fenced next to a Gippsland Water enclosure.  Wanting to live up to our user name and inspired by some of the caches left by our friends The Geo-Baristas we wanted to make our first cache different. While certainly not unique we hope you enjoy the challenge and do not find it too easily! :-) Congrats to The Geo-Baristas for the FTF!

Some interesting information:
Cork comes from trees like the one nearby.
Cork is 4 times lighter than water, impervious to air and water, rot proof and a viable alernative to leather!
The Cork tree is the only tree that can be completely stripped of bark and live.
The bark cannot be harvested until the tree is 25 years old and then every 9 years after that.
The world's largest Cork tree was planted in 1783, first harvested in 1820 and 21 times since.
Australia's largest Cork tree seems to be a tie between one planted in Tenterfield NSW in 1861 and one at St Marys Anglican Church Caulfied Vic.
