Schloss Goldrain

Im 13. Jahrhundert errichtete die Adelsfamilie Scheck von Goldrain einen freihstehenden Ansitz, der heute den Nordtrakt des Schlosses Goldrain bildet. Er ging später in den Besitz der Familie Hendl von Goldrain über, die in mehreren Erweiterungen das Schloss auf die heutige Größe ausbaute. Neben Anbauten am Haupttrakt war dies auch eine Schlossmauer im 17. Jahrhundert mit mehreren Ringtürmen.
Nachdem die Familie Hendl im 18. Jahrhundert ausstarb wechselte das Schloss mehrmals den Besitzer bis es an die Gemeinde Latsch ging. Zwischenzeitlich wurde es von den SS-Truppen als Stützpunkt verwendet und später von den alliierten Truppen besetzt. Heute ist es ein Bildungshaus unter Führung einer Genossenschaft.

Der Cache

Der Cache von der Größe small befindet sich in der Nähe des Schlosses. Um die Koordinaten berechnen zu können müsst ihr erst folgende Frage beantworten:
A: Wie viele Türme besitzt das Schloss Goldrain (entlang der Schlossmauer)?
Die Frage kann vor Ort (evtl. mit Hilfe der Übersichtskarte an den Headerkoordinaten) oder durch Internetrecherche beantwortet werden. An den Headerkoordinaten könnt ihr auch parken. Der Cache befindet sich bei

Goldrain castle

In the 13th century the aristocratic family Scheck von Goldrain built a freestanding mansion which now is the northern wing of castle Goldrain. This mansion was later on owned by the family Hendl von Goldrain which expanded it multiple times. So they built also a castle wall with ring towers in the 17th century.
After the family Hendl died out in the 18th century the castle changed owner multiple times and finally got property of the municipial of Latsch. It was temporarily used as a base of german SS troups and later on occupied by allied forces. Nowadays it is an educational centre.

The small sized cache is hidden near the castle. To get its coordinates you first have to answer the following question:
A: How many towers does the castle have along the outer wall?
The answer can be found by visiting the castle (also using the informational board at the header coordinates) or through the internet. Parking slots are available at the header coordinates. The cache is at
