This mystery cache explores some of the historic houses of Kanab. At each house there is a plaque with the original owners name and date it was built. These plaques have the information (dates) needed to complete this journey. I’ve included the name on the plaque for each stop as well to let you know you’re at the right house.
Here is how it works:
Go to the listed coordinates. This will take you to the first house on this tour, the William Mackelprang house. Fill in the missing coordinates for the second stop by using the date on the plaque at this house.
Second Stop (Charles Pugh house)= N37 02.AA5 - W112 31.85B where A= the last digit of the date and B= the third digit minus 1. Now use the date on this plaque to fill in the missing digits for the 3rd stop (and so on and so on).
Third Stop (Johnson-Hicks house) = N37 02.C2C - W112 31.7DD where C= the last digit of the date plus 2 and D= the third digit plus 2
Fourth Stop(Rider-Pugh house) = N37 02.EE5 - W112 31.7F1 where E= the second digit of the date minus 1 and F= the last digit minus 2
Final Stop and cache location = N37 02.GG0 - W112 31.H77 where G=the second digit in the date minus 1 and H= last digit plus 2
The final stop is where the cache is located. It is a small key holder and contains only a log so BYOP. The hint given pertains only to the cache location here. Please re-hind the cache as you found it to avoid detection.
Remember, most of the houses are currently inhabited so be respectful. The plaques can all be read from the street edge. There is no need to actually enter the property except for the final stop where you must go in to collect the cache and you are more than welcome to do so.
