Geocache Description:

First and foremost, this cache is officially sanctioned and approved by the First United Methodist Church of Moorestown.  We are offering it as an invitation to the geocaching community to visit our grounds and enjoy the gardens, artwork and fruits of labor of countless volunteers.  Feel free to explore and visit as long as you'd like.  Enjoy!

The cache begins in the main courtyard (posted cache coordinates), so it will be easiest if you start from the entrance on Pleasant Valley.

As you enter the courtyard, look for the large mosaic on your right side.  This mosaic was conceived, built and installed entirely by church member volunteers because the wall looked bare.  Coordinate F = the number of birds in the mosaic.  (The mosaic is lit at night, and when the light reflects off the glass it's particularly beautiful.  If you have a chance to stop by after dusk, it's worth it.)

Continue into the courtyard and find the bell in the back right corner.  This bell was cast in Italy by the same maker of the church's handbell set.  We ring the bell on special occasions.  Coordinate E = the last digit of the bell's year.

When you're ready to leave, head on over to the Memorial Garden on the opposite side of the church building.  (Coordinates are included as a waypoint).  You can walk or drive.

Find the bench dedicated to the Fultons.  (It faces Camden Ave by the end of the path through the garden.) Coordinate D = the number of words in the inscription.

Find the bench dedicated to Mrs. Prestwich.  Coordinate A = the number of letters in her first name.

Find the plaque with the names of all those interred in the garden (it's on the wall nearby) and locate my grandfather's name, Ambrose Salvatore.  Coordinates BC = the last two digits of the year of his passing.

Final Cache Location:

N 39° 57.ABC
W 74° 57.DEF

***You do not have to leave the grounds of the church to find the final location!***

If your coordinates are sending you down the street or across town, one of your answers is wrong. Final location is within walking distance, and at most a few hundred yards away.

A few final notes.  While stealth is required when retrieving the final cache, for obvious reasons, stealth while solving the coordinates is not necessary.  We are a friendly faith community with open minds and hearts.  Feel free to interact with anyone you may meet.  All the gardens on the church grounds are kept by volunteer gardeners.  Please respect their hard work by not walking through the plant beds!  Stay on the grass or designated paths. Cache will be maintained by local volunteers (my parents). If you're an FUMC member and would like to "adopt" this cache, please contact me!

At the request of a fellow cacher, here are the service times. Worship Services - Saturdays, 5:30-6:30pm. Sundays, 8:30-9:15am, 9:30-10:30, 11-12. The First Light Preschool operates Morning and Afternoon sessions, M-F. "Traffic" will be highest at the beginnings and endings of each session.
