Geocache Description:


Located on the Warrago Highway west of Roma. The town of Mitchell is the Gateway to Queensland Outback. Mitchell is a town on the banks of the Maranoa River and was named in honour of Sir Thomas Mitchell whose exploration of the south west Queensland led to the establishment of several towns in the region.
