The Delaware Caching Committee invites everyone to join us on
Saturday, July 27th for the
2013 Summer Picnic at Charles E. Price Memorial Park.
Charles E. Price Memorial Park in Middletown DE is one of Delaware’s newest parks. It has a dog park, walking trails and playgrounds. We will be having the picnic at pavilion 8. Please check out their website for a map. www.middletownde.org/parks-and-rec/
DeCaching will supply hamburgers, hotdogs, rolls, condiments and charcoal. Please bring a dish to share (post a "Will Attend" log if you are planning to come and please include the dish you plan to bring). There are 8 picnic tables in our pavilion so please bring a lawn chair for extra seating. The event will be held rain or shine!
Each cacher will receive a special token for attending the event!
Our tentative schedule for the day:
9:30am - Setup
10:30am - Grills fired up
11:00am to 1pm – Eating, geochat, games, 50/50
1:30pm – 50/50 drawing, door prizes/game winners
2:00pm - Group photo
3:00pm – Cleanup
Log in and pick up a meet and greet sheet, fill it in by talking to other cachers and when you complete it, turn it in for coordinates to bonus caches! Voting for best cache container will be from 11 to 1; winner announced at 1:30. We will have two games as well. Guess what's in the ammo can and toss the ammo. These will also be going on from 11 to 1. Creative Cache Challenge....Feeling creative?? Feeling generous?? We will be having a contest for the most creative cache chosen by the cachers at the picnic. If interested, create a cache of any type and bring it to the event. During the picnic, cachers will vote on their favorite one and a prize will be given. The caches in the contest will be given as door prizes if the cacher wishes to donate them. I hope we see some great caches!!
