Wat Uphai Rat Bamrung Chinese Temple, วัดอุภัยราชบำรุง, also spelled Wat U-Phai Ratchabamrung or Wat UPhai Ratchabamrung or Wat U Phai Rat Bamrung, is a sizeable temple located in the Talat Noi, Samphanthawong area of Bangkok, Thailand.
It has been assumed that this temple was built in 1787 (B.E. 2330) by Vietnamese immigrating with Ong Chiang Sua, nephew of the Pacha of Hue who escaped from the revolts to be under the mercy of King Rama I. He was given land to settle a community in Bangkok. At that time, these Vietnamese, who were Buddhist, cooperated in building two temples for the Vietnamese monks, Wat Kan Yoeng Toe (Wat Yuan Talat Noi) and Wat Kwang Poek Toe (Wat Yuan Bangpho).
Later King Chulalongkorn named the temple "U Phai Rat Bumrung". The temple recieved royal patronage from two kings, King Mongkut and King Chulalongkorn. These two kings had known a Vietnamese senior monk named Ong Hueng who gave a talk about the Greater Vehicle Buddhism (Mahayana) to Prince Mongkut during his monkhood. After Prince Mongkut became king, he gave Ong Hueng a monk title of Phra Kru Kananam Samanachan, having a position in administrating all Vietnamese monks in the country.
