The cache is among rocks near a trig point called the pinnacle at the top of Slievereagh. This must be one of the best points from which to get a panoramic view of much of Munster and beyond; given the right visibility. The high terrain rating refers only to the last few meters to the cache.
Park at the given coordinates on the Kilfinane to Ballylanders road (there is a sigh there for the Lazy Dog shooting range). There is a pleasant walk along a forest road. The phone mast and wind turbine give clues to the general direction. (For physics students; this is the mast that was shown on the 2013 Leaving Certificate exam). Turn right at the first junction and later, turn left to the reference point, leaving the turbine to your right. While I do not recommend driving to it, DO NOT drive past the reference point.
Climb to the mast. A path to the left of the railing around the mast leads to the trig point.
Do take time to enjoy the views.
Alternative starting points include Glenbrohane church, Ballinvereena (beside the lime kiln with its geocache) or from Kilfinane via the Ballyhoura way. If you are adventurous you can navigate from Kilfinane via the Poll na Fheirse cache. There is a plan to signpost this route.
