Geocache Description:

This is the 4th cache in the 2013 Cache Calhoun GeoTour and ready for you to find! The first 9 of 10 caches can be found in any order.

This is a high muggle area so please use stealth.  Bring your own pen and an extraction tool.

The city of Marshall has a historic past.  From this location, you can see:  the National House built by Andrew Mann in 1835.  It is reported to be the first brick building erected in Calhoun County;  the old Crary School named for Isaac Crary who was instrumental in the development of the Michigan Public School System; the first bell for the Marshall Fire Department and a plaque for Harold Craig Brooks who built the fountain in the center of Michigan Ave; the Old Stone Barn which has served as a Livery, Stagecoach stop, gas station, and currently as City Hall; a plaque near the fountain that notes Michigan Ave. was originally a Potawatomi Indian Trail, later named State Street and finally in 1923 was named Michigan Ave/US12; the home of Isaac E. Crary from 1840-1954 which now houses Monarch Community Bank; and finally the Honolulu House.  Enjoy historic Marshall.
