Geocache Description:

This is a simple geocache that could possibly be used as a cache 'n' dash, or as a longer walk along the Montgomery Canal. It should be accessible at all hours and all weathers. The title is a deliberate double entendre towards the actor Richard Griffiths, and the canal itself. Placed with consent from Natural Resources Wales, Newtown.

This is the very first geocache that we have placed and is close to home. I've been motivated to do so by the passing of one of our favourite actors, Richard Griffiths. Richard Griffiths was born in Yorkshire on the 31st July 1947 and passed away on the 28th March 2013. He was one of those actors who when you'd see him in a film or on TV, you'd scratch your head in an attempt to remember and say  -"wasn't he in X?" His most famous roles were:-

Uncle Monty - Withnail & I (1987)
Henry Crabbe - Pie in the Sky (1994-97)
Uncle Vernon Dursley - five Harry Potter films (2001-10)
Hector - The History Boys (2006)

R.I.P. Richard Griffiths O.B.E. - a born thespian The cache is a micro-lockbox and is magnetic. Please be careful when replacing the cache as the magnetic attraction is quite weak, ensure that it is hidden as well as possible and attached.
