Overspannen?!
Overspannenheid is een gemoedstoestand die ontstaat als iemand te lang gespannen is geweest en niet meer voldoende tot rust kan komen. De oorzaken zijn van uiteenlopende aard. Zo kan iemand overspannen worden als op korte termijn te veel emoties verwerkt moeten worden, maar ook als er te veel stress is of als iemand zich niet voldoende kan ontspannen.
Een overspanning is de ruimte die door een dragend constructiedeel (bijvoorbeeld een ligger, spant, latei of boog) wordt overbrugd. Exacter gezegd, wordt er met een overspanning bedoeld de afstand tussen twee steunpunten. De precieze afstand tussen die twee steunpunten wordt d.m.v. een berekening bepaald en geeft de theoretische overspanning voor die situatie.

Overspannen?!
Overspannen has 2 different meanings:
Emotional exhaustion is a chronic state of physical and emotional depletion that results from excessive job and/or personal demands and continuous stress. It describes a feeling of being emotionally overextended and exhausted by one's work. It is manifested by both physical fatigue and a sense of feeling psychologically and emotionally "drained".
Span is the distance between two intermediate supports for a structure, e.g. a beam or a bridge. A span can be closed by a solid beam or a rope. The first kind is used for bridges, the second one for power lines, overhead telecommunication lines, some type of antennas or for aerial tramways.
