Geocache Description:

This cache is not located at the listed coordinates. All of the information you need to find this cache can be found on this page. You will need to study everything on this page to give you the coordinates for this cache. However this might not be as easy as it looks!

The cache can be found within one mile of the published co-ordinates. We may provide a hint or two but only when the cache has been found.

So why might this not be as easy as it looks? Well, there is lots of information on this page but as this cache is based in Lye we thought it would be fun to make this a challenge and fill the description with lies (Lies, Lye, gettit?) therefore the only information that you can truly believe is the information in the paragraphs above this one and this sentence; some of the other information on the page is the truth and some of the information is all lies; the challenge is for you to work out which is which and you will then need to find the coordinates from the information on this page. North fifty-two. So we guess you will want to know something about this cache? Well, it's made of kryptonite, has been organically sourced and is only available while stocks last. The container is an ammo box, made of wool and shielded with an invisibility cloak. It can be found at the top of an enormous tree, deep underground. Twenty seven. You may find assistance by viewing the source code of this page, decoding the QR code below or even going outside and counting how many clouds are in the sky and multiplying the number by seven then adding your age. Four eight two. It would definitely be worth your while spending some time checking the background image carefully too. It's quite possible and indeed likely that the first letter of each sentence is significant (or is that every other sentence?) West zero zero two. Parking can be found quite close to the cache but look out for traffic wardens! Zero six. As this cache is based in Lye we thought we could include the following information about the area which in the year Eighteen Seventy was included in John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales: Lye, a village, a township, and a chapelry, in Old Swinford parish, Worcester. The village stands adjacent to the Stourbridge and Cradley railway, near the boundary with Stafford, one and half miles East by North of Stourbridge; is irregularly built; and has a station on the railway, and a post office under Stourbridge. The township includes the village, and a considerable surrounding tract. Carless Green village, immediately East of Lye village, is noted for insurance clubs called Stewpony societies, and for an institution designed to improve the condition of the labouring classes, called the Stewpony Allotment Society. Lye Waste, around Lye village, took its name from being an uncultivated appendage to Lye, but became settled by a numerous body of men, who acquired a right of separate freehold on the passing of an enclosure act, and is now thickly built over. Three eight two. Please use stealth when retrieving the cache as the location is very overlooked. Have you worked out which information is true and which is lies? Have you worked out how to get the coordinates from the information on this page yet?

Some clues:

.

The cache isn't magnetic or underwater.

We like a challenging cache and we hope that you enjoy working this one out too. For clarity, the attributes which have been applied to this cache are nothing to do with solving the puzzle and there may also be some red herrings on the page. Some street names which can be found in Lye: High Street, Church Road, Clinic Drive, Jackson Street, Mitre Road, Valley Road, Vicarage Road, Providence Street. To lie is to hold something which one knows is not the whole truth to be the whole truth, intentionally. In some situations, including perjury and some fraud, lying may be punishable by law. If you believe someone is lying, then change the subject of a conversation quickly; a liar follows along willingly and becomes more relaxed. The guilty wants the subject changed; an innocent person may be confused by the sudden change in topics and will want to back to the previous subject. A famous liar is Baron Munchhausen, a German baron who served in the military and returned home with tall tales about his adventures. He reportedly told people that he'd travelled to the moon, ridden cannonballs, and escaped from a swamp by pulling himself out by his own hair. His supposed adventures became the subject of many books and over the years, the tales of Munchausen have become popular adventure stories told to children. Two psychological disorders are named after him. Munchausen syndrome is a disorder in which someone feigns illness in order to get attention. Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a disorder in which a caregiver (usually the mother) fakes or induces illness in his or her child or in another person in his or her care in order to gain attention and sympathy. When it comes to detecting liars, most people score about fifty per cent, or slightly better and that includes many police officers. In other words, we might as well be guessing. According to a scientist in San Francisco, only about one in a thousand people is an excellent lie detector. She says these experts have highly developed powers of observation, and a relentless motivation and commitment to uncovering the truth. Not surprisingly, many find their calling in the highest levels of security and police work. But she has discovered one interesting wrinkle about them: One of the things that is curious to me about the expert lie detectors is that their expertise pertains in their professional life, but many of them have long histories of romantic failures, you know, and reports of difficulties in their romantic life because in those settings, they put this ability to the side. There is a substance known as lye (also known as caustic soda or sodium hydroxide) which is soluble in water, ethanol and methanol and is traditionally used in soap making.
