Hi there! Thanks for finding my box! I’m D’Art the gallery cat. I’m told I was a stray (whatever that means) before I was scooped up in a car and yowled loudly all the way from Pennsylvania to my new home in Dublin. I’ve been king of the Dublin Arts Council castle since 2010. I love belly rubs, taking guests through gallery, and occasionally stealing staff members’ lunches (especially cheese and turkey). Although I’m a big fan of boxes, I’m not allowed outside to help you search for Riverboxes … but I hope you enjoy the journey!
Inside D’Art’s no-litter cat box you will find material detailing the mystery Riverboxes Challenge, an optional excursion to explore and discover our Riverboxes - artist created vessels / beautiful pieces of public art - placed in Dublin parks with a connection to the Scioto River. Completing the challenge will earn you a custom Riverboxes trackable geocoin, to commemorate your adventure. If you decide to accept the challenge and take the journey, guidelines for your adventure can be found in D’Art’s no-litter cat box at ground zero.
* Permission has been granted to place the cache.
* D’Art’s no-litter cat box is a great place to drop or grab travel bugs – and of course, earn a smiley. D’Art’s no-litter cat box marks the launch of the CITO initiative for the Dublin Arts Council Riverboxes series.
CITO: Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, cachers help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor environments.
