Geocache Description:

The cache a nano is on the footbridge over the Long Nanny stream.

The Long Nanny stream flows from the area around West Fleetham, some 2-3 miles west

It is joined by the Tughall and Brunton Burns who rise 2-3 miles south west and join the the Long Nanny  just west of the bridge.
The result is a vigorous water flow all the year round.
During times of prolonged wet weather/ high tides  the stream swells significantly and access to the cache may be comprimised..
Once on the beach the exact flow of the stream varies depending on the effect of high tides, wind blown sand and  the volume of water.
However the best advice is not to try and wade through the stream but use the bridge and stay dry!

During the months April-July the beach and dunes adjacent to the Long Nanny are home to thousands of Terns who nest and breed  here every year.
If you intend walking the length of Beadnall Bay on the beach then please follow the National Trust Warden's signs which will guide you back to the beach avoidiing the colony.

Travelling south, the next few caches are only three quarters of a  mile away, keep going!!
