A church has stood on this site since 673, but the current building originated in the 13thc and like many other churches, fell into disrepair until the Victorians extensive restoration work in 1876. . The building is constructed of rubblestone and ashlar (finely cut) dressed limestone, with leaded roofs and end parapets with nineteenth century gable crosses.
