Geocache Description:

The cache is a 4 oz. camo'd plastic jar about 2.5" high and 1.75" diameter. Room for a log and a few very small items. Bring your own writing implement.

It is definitely much easier to get to in the winter. The cache should not be too hard to find once you get near it.

After attending the 2013 Mid-Winter event in Long Lake, I decided that I really liked winter caching. I checked for winter-accessible caches, but didn't come up with too many. I decided that if at all possible, any new caches I placed would be winter accessible. I took advantage of great extended winter conditions to place this one. It is the first of many I hope to be able to place in the area.

In the winter, you might be able to go straight to the cache from the nearest plowed road or nearest trail. Other times of the year, you'll need to plan your method of attack more thoroughly. Look at the topo map before you go.

I rated the terrain difficulty based on winter access. It may take more effort at other times, depending on what you are comfortable doing, and/or what equipment you have.

Any time of the year, this is a very pretty location.

This is not a night cache, but an experienced geocacher probably could find it at night with some effort. Good excuse for a moonlight ski or snowshoe. I wouldn't recommend it at night except in winter.
