Geocache Description:

An introduction to one of the beauty spots around Royal Wootton Bassett.  The paths are good, but the cache is quite close to a stream, and it can be muddy if you go off them. Please be aware that the tree cover may upset the GPS signal.

This is the first cache I've placed.  It is close to the car park for Jubilee Lake, and is the first of 3 or 4 caches I hope to place in the area.
Jubilee Lake was named for the Queen's Silver Jubilee, after suggestions from the towns school children.  Stealth is needed as it is popular with dog walkers and fishermen (probably fisherwomen, too, although I've not seen any).  There is a nature trail around the Lake, and there is also a childrens play area above it.  Toilets are by the Sea Cadet hut near the play area, and there are plans for a small refreshment stall there.  The paths around the lake are good, although if you stray off them it may be muddy in places, especially after rain.  Wheelchair users can get to within about 2mt. of the cache, but would need a companion to actually retrieve it. There are seats and some picnic tables dotted around the area.
I hope you enjoy the cache, and have an enjoyable time at the lake. Cache placed with the permission of the Town Clerk, Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council. Congratulations to lornaaughey on the FTF, and commiserations to Toadpink, who missed it by about 45 minutes due to a dodgy GPS app.
