Geocache Description:

This should be a quick park and grab. This bridge was built in 1971 and replaced an old iron bridge with wooden planks. When my mother was a child riding the school bus, one of the boys would have to get out and replace some of the planks that had come up so the bus could cross the bridge. When I was a child, I remember hunkering down in the family station wagon until we crossed the bridge, because you could see the river below through the bottom of the bridge. Some of the locals didn't like the idea of such a "modern" bridge being built. If you are lucky, you might be able to see a bald eagle or two near the river. There may be muggles in the area birdwatching or accessing the Housatonic river boat launch. BYOP
